If permitted, Phillips 66 will move up to five 80 car crude oil trains weekly from Canada and North Dakota across the country and through the San Francisco Bay Area to San Luis Obispo. This would increase air pollution and train traffic in densely populated areas as well as create a high risk of oil spills, fires, explosions and train derailments, endangering millions of people and the ecosystem. This is not in anyone's best interests. That is why local city councils, school boards, teachers unions, and activists are speaking up with this petition:

Mr Murry Wilson
Dear Dept of Planning and Building,
Please deny the permit for the Santa Maria Refinery Rail Project! Now is the time to reduce our reliance on these extremely dirty, toxic fossil fuels and invest instead in infrastructures that are clean and renewable, such as solar and wind power.
